[Continued from the previous Trading View post]I noted that Python has much more room to scale up, but I wondered, to what extent exactly will Scratch confine me?My goal is to create an algorithmic trading bot, but to ensure it runs on proper data, the visual representation could highlight potential fault lines in the system. Many have accused the financial markets of being unpredictable, but does “random” even exist in the way we understand it today? There is always a way to slightly boost your odds, and when I covered how to create a Blackjack automation, I learned the beauty of…

Learning a new language can be tough—especially for programmers. In my case, it was transitioning from Scratch to Python a few months ago.During the transition, I often found myself resorting to Scratch even when creating new projects. The truth is that when you have fully discovered a path to great things on one platform, it feels fruitless to backtrack and permanently abandon a familiar routine. One question nagged me specifically: If I pull back the curtains on this new project and let go of the habitual, will Python deconstruct my previous learning? I was always worried that once I started…

Published eight years ago, Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (by Max Tegmark) remains relevant and is my favorite read recently. A physics professor at MIT, Tegmark, warns of the danger of goal misalignment between AI (or machines) and humans. He discusses possible pleasant scenarios in which humans are able to benefit from the limited consciousness of AIs, but also frightening scenarios in which a fictional superintelligent AI, “Prometheus,” controls the world. This book sparked my interest in AI-human goal misalignment, a theme I would encounter again when I discovered a captivating video by Turing Games…

Look closely… Beneath the bright mustache and beaming smile of Mr. Monopoly lies a greedy truth that has profoundly scarred America. Once a game that reminded Americans of the Robber Barons’ dominance, it is now the eight-and-up dinner board game. Long ago, big figures such as John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and J.P. Morgan ruled America under the oil, steel, railroad, and even finance industries. These seemingly pleasant fellows who surged during the Industrial Era in America each owned monopolies that employed ruthless tactics, such as bribery and worker exploitation, to amass immense wealth, creating vast inequality and corruption—and,…

Camp AgawamI attended Camp Agawam in the summer of 2024.The camp is split into two distinct parties: the Ags and the Wams. With a unique lore, each competition unites us boys through excited cheering and spirit. Other than that, there are many opportunities at camp to strengthen bonds within Agawam as a whole.Throughout my camp experience, there was not a single day when I was not reminded of the brothers who helped me become part of the community. Whether it’s a cabin event, a party, or just a casual card game with my friends, I always enjoy the constant teamwork…

Center for Talented Youth (CTY)I attended CTY in the summer of 2025.The Dickinson College campus is lined with welcoming faculty. Quickly browsing the posters, I recognize my class—Great Cases—, and there I find Mr. Tubbs, my new class teacher. Accompanying him, Eniola—the TA (Teaching Assistant) stands proudly with a artistially designed poster. I had just arrived when I saw that my dorm mate also had no idea of the class curriculum, so I felt assured that we would learn together. Two weeks into camp, I would get to know so many other people across the different subjects. Although the schedule is…

This book, American Constitutional Law, was important in my summer camp experience at CTY. This book has 800 pages, and my course covered landmark cases and used it as a source for dissents, background, and the court’s opinion. This book is essential for understanding American legal history, and it helped me understand the turning points in the Supreme Court context. During CTY, we used cases from this book to form moot courts. I am most proud of my performance as a representative of the West Coast Hotel in West Coast Hotel v. Parrish. Before the case, I reviewed all potentially relevant…

Pre-designed Lego sets are very popular among children of all ages and even adults. People are often frustrated that Lego bricks are easy to mix up among different sets. However, I see this as beginning of going beyond the script and being more creative with the pieces. I find that deep within the prepackaged Lego sets lies a reliable way to expand the imagination beyond the shackled reality of unrealized potential. Some adults might have realized that children have a knack for creativity. Some argue that this might not benefit children in certain subjects that require practicality, but in art…
